Downtown Walk -01

Canada Place

A leisurely  walk from modern Canada Place through historic Gastown and the site of Vancouver's incorporation, to the largest Chinatown in the country.  This tour includes a visit to Fly Over Canada, a 30 min experience including a simulator flight from coast to coast.

Proposed Itinerary          

Meet up at prearranged location.
Tour starts at Granville Square and carrys on around to Canada Place. Get a chance to see any cruise ships berthed at the terminal and see the view across the harbour towards the North Shore Mountains
From Canada Place, we loop around to Jack Poole Plaza, site of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics cauldron.  Again see the gorgeous views across Stanley Park to the North Shore.
Return to Canada Place and visit the Fly Over Canada Experience (included in tour cost) Gain fast-lane-access which means no queueing for this family-friendly flight simulation ride like no other!  Note there is a height restriction - all participants must be over 102 cm (40 in). Please also note the Safety and Security information.
Stroll along historic Gastown's Water Street and explore the hip contemporary fashion and furnishing boutiques.  This area is very popular with tourists so, if you need a souvenir to take home, this is the place to get it. See the famous Steam Clock, powered by Vanvouver's distributed steam heating system. See the statue of Gassy Jack, the Yorkshire seaman who arrived in 1867 to open the area's first saloon. This also marks the area where the city became incorporated in 1886.
Contine to Chinatown - the largest Chinatown in Canada. Stroll the streets and see some of the more famous landmarks such as Guangzhou Alley, Shanghai Alley. See some of the traditional Chinese stores.  Visit the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Classical Chinese Park - an extension of the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Classical Chinese Garden, the first Ming Dynasty Scholars' Garden built ouside of China. Entrance to the park is free but there is an admission charge for the garden. This tour covers only the park. The oasis paradise provides interesting perspectives on culture, architecture and horticulture in the Ming Dynasty. Breathtaking vistas, rain or shine, allow your heart and mind to relax as your energy renews. Journey back to 15th Century China and enjoy a window to another world.
Option of having lunch in one of Chinatown's noodle houses.

Return to pick-up point via Skytrain's Expo/Millenium line or other convenient transport
Option of doing tour in reverse order or modify to suit your preferences.
